She came to Akiba, admiring the cute uniforms of maid cafés and expecting it to be a regular job waiting on tables with a bit of a cute act mixed in, then it turned out the place that accepted her along with half the other maid cafés in all of Akihabara are secretly involved with criminal gangs (probably Yakuza), illegal gambling dens and we can't forget all the murder. It's pretty much hell.

One moment they're annihilating others, another moment they are getting beaten into submission.

Its an intentional decision to make this seem like half assed edited low budget moe maid show but what is inside is absolutely different

The lid wasn't on propperly so it came loose as the lady got into her car and spilled over her lap, causing severe burns. She refused the $20 million dollar court settlement, and took the medical exspenses and $20 000 for her troubles.

Actually the coffee spilled after she put the cup between her knees to open the lid to pour creamer. She wanted to settle for $20K but McDonald refused so it went to trial and was awarded $2.7 million of punitive damages plus medical. Eventually it was appealed and the amount was lowered to under $600K.
